LOUP SNOWBOARD TEAM
Welcome to the Loup Snowboard Team webpage
The Loup Snowboard Team is all about having fun on the snow. The program is designed to build advanced all around snowboarding and racing skills, in a safe and fun social environment. Riders will follow a structured program that supports the foundations, skills, and tactics that all riders need to become advanced riders. Riders in this program can expect to learn all the tools they need to safely ride all mountain conditions, prepare for and participate in snowboard races and boarder cross events, and understand the snowboard industry to set realistic goals for growth and success.
We want our riders to be able to grow their skills in a focused, ‘smart-riding’ style. That means understanding how to do things, how to break movements and riding styles down, and why things feel the way they do when it works or just doesn’t. We teach snowboard etiquette and how to be ambassadors and role models for the sport.
Target kids are ages 8 to 17 years old and that must be able to ride all blue terrain (intermediate snowboarder) in control, linking heel and toe-side turns, and must be able to load and unload lifts unassisted.
We host a snowboard Giant Slalom and Slalom race at the Loup Loup Ski Area each year. If interested in our team or our annual race, please contact Gene Shull at Loupsnowboardteam@gmail.com or we can be reached through our Ski Area.
Saturday February 4 & 5, 2012, Snowboard Race on the lower Ridge run.
